How to Host a Community Dinner
This week's featured guest is Christina Stembel, founder of Farmgirl Flowers. You may recognize Christina from the national Capital One campaign, where she gets to quote the well known slogan, What's in your wallet? Christina was born in a small Indiana town where she was raised with the idea that young girls did not have the same future or potential as young boys. For most of her childhood, she felt like an outsider. She was a young girl with big dreams, and that was not the norm in her town.
Farmgirl turned 11 years old yesterday. I spent it at my favorite area on earth — the beach all the rage northern California. I know - not particularly birthday worthy, but you appreciate I like to keep it actual and not sugar coat the arduous stuff. And make no mistake - this is hard stuff.
Melissa, please share your story with us. How did you get to anywhere you are today? I love en route for cook it, eat it, shop designed for it, look at it, read a propos it, tell people about it, after that teach about it. InI was laid off from my job in the tech industry and was taking a few time off to be a careful mom. I had three very committed boys who were between the ages of 3 and 8 at the time while my husband, at the time, traveled constantly. A small advertise and cafe opened at the aim of my road and changed my life! It offered food that was local, fresh, innovative, and inviting.
