Pentagon Confirms it May Court Martial Soldiers Who Share Christian Faith

“The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis.

The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.

From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”

I thank God for the soldiers who shared their faith with me when I was in the US Army. They plus a few other incidents were all parts of God's plan to bring me to Himself.

In this country it has always been "for God and country." Now they want you to choose between the two. Don't make me choose because I will choose right and that right choice won't be country.

This is it, IMHO. The USA is all done. Most people just don't know it yet.

That man owes a HUGE apology to each and every person who has ever been sexually assaulted, he also owes a HUGE apology to every soldier who has ever shared his faith with a fellow brother in arms.

I had heard today that the Pentagon is denying this? I'll try to find a link.

^^ What he said. This explains the jpg below, which was all over twitter last night (considering I hang out with a conservative, Christian crowd there).

Pentagon Backpedals on Court-Martial for Christian Soldiers Who Share Jesus

Alliance Defending Freedom filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request Wednesday for records related to a Pentagon statement issued Tuesday that indicated members of the military could be subject to court martial for “religious proselytization.”

The Department of Defense spokesperson who made the comments backtracked in a new statement Thursday that explains, “Service members can share their faith (evangelize), but must not force unwanted, intrusive attempts to convert others of any faith or no faith to one’s beliefs (proselytization).”

I read that too. As the article hints - I too wonder if there are a bunch of cases where people were being FORCED to convert to Christianity? Or being locked in a room or something made to listen to the gospel.

Why is this now an issue (why is the Pentagon even talking about this) if it's really "no big deal" and there is no policy change? :headscratch

You know- I have to say that along with the many blessings God blessed America with- God blessed America with military strength too. If we are going this way (persecution of Christians) it's not very wise imho

FORCED to convert to Christianity? Baloney. Not in the 24 years I served. Never saw a hint of anyone being forced and don't believe it.

I do not think anyone was being Forced to become a Christian either, or forced to listen to the gospel. They were just coming up with stupid reasons to court martial Christians and take away more of our rights.

Why Jesus Isn't Allowed in the Foxholes

a virulently anti-Christian advocacy group--with the Orwellian name of the Religious Freedom Foundation - met privately with Pentagon officials to demand that current regulations be expanded to make the proselytizing of religious beliefs a court-martial offense for anyone in uniform.

But having Jesus in your foxhole is exactly what you need.

During my tour in the US military (Viet Nam era) there were a number of Christian servicemen who freely shared Christ and quite a few who got saved. I was already saved before enlistment but found my personal faith reinforced. I'm sure such still goes on. Yet, I never knew of anyone being fkorced, lt was only a free will participation in the fellowship.

Probably its the liberal left, or Islamic protective contingency within the military that makes this noise. It would cut both ways though.
