More than irreplaceable, this is a cultural and historical tragedy. Most of the scolls were not catalogued there is no way of knowing what has been lost. There are dozens of these libraries. Howw many more have been tourched by these philistines, these self proclaimed men of god

Interesting that no one in the Muslim community seems to be rioting over the destruction of the many antique Korans and other "holy" Islamic writings that were stored there among the many other historic documents.
