Tomatoes as 'Forbidden Because They Are Christian'

http://www.crossmap.com/articles/1822/20120620/islam-salafist-warns-tomatoes-christian-facebook.htm

Well, what does one expect? Muslims are always seeing the name "Allah" inside of kumquats and sweet potatoes while Catholics see the Virgin Mary or Jesus in a slice of toast. Yep, tomatoes have a cross in them so they're forbidden to Muslims! Bwahaha!

You know what's interesting about the whole thing? That militant Muslims admit to seeing cross in tomatoes in the first place. Muslims deny that Jesus died on the cross yet here is a creation of "Allah" boldly showing that symbol to the entire world every time someone cuts a tomato in half!

Don't they wonder why Allah would make a cross in a tomato? What other food can we find crosses in...I bet there are more.

I know that it doesn't always take the shape of the cross but the fact that it sometimes does, and that scientist use the cross shape to portray it, may be enough to flip out a few radical Muslims

Apparently the post made 10 days ago caused outrage on Facebook, drawing nearly 3,000 comments.

In response, the group defended their position saying, "We didn't say you can't eat tomatoes. We said don't cut it in the cross shape."

Now wait a minute, if tomatoes are bad because they're Christian, aren't these Muslims talking out of both side of their mouths if they say it's "okay" to eat them so long as you "don't cut it in the cross shape" - ?

If the cross is so offensive to them they must have a tough time driving down a street lined with utility poles.
