Heather, Jason, Luke and Arwen were in this weekend. That meant play time! It's a
"last hurrah" for Leia for a while. She gets spayed tomorrow.

Here's a short video of the dobermans playing. I have some pictures to upload too. I'll get them edited and will share them a little later. For now, let the games begin!

:catfight :cheer

Luke and Leia. 10 months old

You know it's funny - people say a picture is worth 1000 words... but you know... they can be very misleading. We know they are playing but some of those pictures look like they are fighting and trying to tear the other's throat out.

My co-worker and friend lives in the mtns her and her husband are real mountain people (he has long hair and a long beard and looks like a steriotypical mtn man) - she took a picture of a fox that would hang out at her place. Man he looked nasty.

But --- he would PLAY with their cat... he'd let the cat CHASE HIM. then he'd come over and get a dog brisket. He was half tame. She thinks it was because of a wildlife - shoot I forgot what she called it... encounter? petting zoo type? that was nearby. Oh well. He'd use way more energy running around with the cat then what he'd get from the bisket or if he would actually eat the cat....

My theory - they were both black and he considered her a "puppy". but the picture shows him in mid-lope with his head down and his eyes burning into the camera... he looks like a wolf almost.

SO true Sharon! If you didn't know better, the pics of the dobes playing may lead you to think they are fighting instead. The doberman plays ROUGH with any other dog that can match them.. Especially another dobe.

With the video of Leia with that pit pup, it shows just how gentle a dobe can be. However, I could probably get pics of the two of them playing, and it could look like Leia was trying to eat that puppy! :lol Pictures are worth a thousand words.... however, sometime those words can be misleading without more to the story. :D:

Luke and Leia look like they had a terrific time. They are gorgeous dogs :love

LadySharon, up in Canada a wildlife photographer dog sleds to the same location every year, and every year some polar bears come through and play with the dogs. It's an amazing site. The bears are completely wild, yet they play gently with the dogs and never hurt them.
