A school nurse and counselor forced an 8-year-old Texas boy to bathe after telling him he "smelled badly, was dirty and had bad hygiene," according to a lawsuit filed Thursday. The boy was forced to take off his clothes one day in November and the two school officials "began violently washing his body," the parents said. The lawsuit claims the boy was traumatized by what happened and has had to see therapists. http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/06/16/12258691-parents-lawsuit-third-grader-forced-to-bathe-at-texas-school?lite |

They should have called his parents to take him home. No way should they have done what they did. |

Agreed that they should have sent him home. I've been exposed to some pretty bad body odors and dirty kids at school, but bathing them there isn't the answer. :pk |

Yes they should have sent him home instead of bathing him at school. |

Good grief! There were so many better ways to handle that than to forcibly bathe this young boy! Those school officials oughta have to register as sex offenders for at least the next decade for putting their hands on that child! :twitch |

If that had been my son I'd be furious that someone had stripped him and bathed him. There is no excuse for what they did. Even if the child looked like Pigpen and smelled like he had been rolling in a landfill, they still had no right to do what they did. How about calling the parents or CPS to alert them to what was going on? How about explaining hygiene to the child and offering to let him bathe himself in the school showers? |
