“Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.” opens tonight at Aloha Theatre. Based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s cartoon that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs, this junior production includes students ranging in age from 8 to 18 from 15 area schools.

It's not a review (the show opens tonight), just a feature. :):

PS, Simon is in the blue jeans and red shirt with the "AND" box. :):

I'll bet he's having a ball with it too!

The theater seems to really be his forte! :nod

Does he intend to be an actor when he grows up?

He doesn't think it's a very realistic life goal. He loves performing and really is very good at it. I know, all parents think that there kids are great, but Simon really has "it", whatever "it" is. All those we encounter in theatre and/or movie production agree that he has talent.

But he (Simon) realizes how few people with real talent can actually make a living with their craft. So, he is already looking into some options with both local and out of state universities and is looking into scholarship programs etc.

While I am pleased, I have to chuckle a little bit about it too because he hasn't started high school yet.

YEA! Hoping he has fun. :):

It's always good to have options, but IMHO he should keep acting (maybe not in a movie - but continue on stage) in his sight... you never know... :):

There are people who act professionally - & do quite well with it. He may be one who does.

And if he decides to pursue another career, he can always find a community theater to be a part of, surely.

The great thing is, he's interested in going to college. :nod

Yeah community theater would be a great place for Simon to continue with the acting. Our pastor does community theater and is quite good at it. He has an awesome singing voice.
