I heard that the Green Lantern has now become a gay character. I got to thinking about all the comic books I read when I was growing up...all the Disney characters, Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, Tubby and Little Lulu, Tom and Jerry, and multitudes of others. Except for Archie and the various super heroes, I think they all disappeared when my kids were in elementary school. I spent many happy hours during the summers working my way a stack of them.

I used to buy comic books all the time but, that was in the 1960s. Where comics were more policed by their companies. It seems that they are brcoming more liberal and let more pass. It is a shame that if I had kids they couldn't read the same fun filled comics that I could. Even the superheros comics which I bought all the time. I wish I had my comic books back now.

Just a couple of notes to keep this on topic.

1. The Green Lantern that they are doing this to is not the Hal Jordan (most recognized) GL, and it is what they call on Earth 2, kind of like an alternate version of the main DC universe. This does not make it right, just showing how they eased it in.

2. The GL that they are making gay, already had a son that came out gay and also became a gay superhero in his time. DC revamped the so - called DC universes and so they wrote out the son character and made this GL the gay character.

I miss Mickey, Donald, Huey, Duey, and Louie, Uncle Scrooge, Lil' Wolf, Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs, and Sylvester and Tweety. I did read Superman, but the non-hero ones were more fun.
