Now Baby, she was upchucking hairballs and I had had enough. She still has her tail and leg warmers.

I can see the other pics but not the swimming puppy. :(:

I think cats look silly in "lion" cuts. :lol But if it helps then that's a good thing :thumbup

We were cleaning up hairball messes almost everyday. Disgusting!! This will give Baby and us a break.

Can anyone else see the one with Rusty swimming?

btw I've thought about doing that with my Chester. He is a white cat and they really have more troubles with fleas than darker cats. None of my cats go outside yet they still have fleas- I just don't get it. Maybe we bring them in on our pants legs and shoes?

It shows how tiny she really is, only 8 pounds.

I don't know how to deal with fleas, we don't seem to have that problem in Colorado. The winters tend to kill off everything very well. We did have moths galore this spring and the birds are getting fat.

I wonder if there is something you can feed the animals to makes them resistent to the fleas...I give Rusty a squirt of fish oil with vitamin E in his dry food. Makes him so soft and silky and he barely sheds at all. But then again, fleas might love that!!!

Chester's solid white and fleas love WHITE. Wear white pants and they're all over you. Or that's what the vet told me. My other cats don't seem that bothered.

There is a product (for dogs not cats) it's garlic pills that I get from the Feed store. Makes the dogs do an angry flea dance about 20-30 minutes after taking the pill.

That's the unhappy fleas leaving (or so I'm told) It has to be given every 3-4 weeks. They're about $6 a piece. I'd heard for years you can add garlic to dogs food and it would help with the fleas but never knew that someone had come up with garlic pills till recently.

We use the flea/tick drops. Cedar chips where they sleep and weuse the dip as well. This year it's been a battle. We didn't have much cold last winter so the bugs are really bad for us.

Wish Martha Stewart was My Sister!
We'd be sad & lonely without our four-legged friends, for sure. :lol

Rusty looks like he's really enjoying that water, Kerry. Your kitty is cute - I can see where the cut is beneficial. I used to get Clyde E. Dog shaved every summer & he was much more comfortable that way.

Sharon, if you want to see something that looks silly, you should have seen Clyde the summer the groomer gave him a lion cut. He hated it - his head & face were all hot under that fur and (to me) he looked like a bobblehead dog! :pound I trimmed the hair a bit so it wasn't so long at his jawline and he sort of got used to it after a week or two. i told the gal the next summer to shave his head & face too, so he felt "even" all over. :heh

Thanks, Barb. Garlic sounds like a great idea, I never knew that fleas were attracted to white. Maybe get some Miss Clairol and dye her temporarily black? Or redhead...lol.

I do think it will make Baby's life easier, she gets mats in her ruff that I would have to cut with my embroidery scissors, they were so painful that she would sit still for that as if she were saying, please get that off of my neck!! :(: Poor thing.

Russ totally freaked out when he realized there was no land under his feet. He panic'd and swam to shore as fast as he could. It was quite a shock to him that he couldn't keep his feet grounded at he went further out and then he refused to get in any farther than he could keep his feet on some sort of land. We threw sticks in the water and he would reach as far as he could by sticking out his neck and if the stick was too far, he said forget it and let it float away.

He was so funny when he saw a seagull and barked his head off, then he saw a dog across the lake and barked his head off. I had to keep telling him "LASER" to get him to calm down. As soon as he hears the word 'laser' he stops, looks at the ground for that little red light. :):

Great pictures! I can't wait to be able to take Leia back to the lodge for a swim. She's in heat right now, and SO unhappy. :lol

Those are great pics! Baby looks funny but I bet she'll feel a ton better.

Russ sounds like Shadow with the swimming. I'd take him down to where the dogs used to swim and one time he went out just a little to far, he got the most panicked look on his face when he realized the ground was gone. It was the one and only time he swam, no matter how much I tried to coax him to swim he was having none of it.
