Please let's not turn this into a partisan discussion. The entire system is messed up. I wish we had the option to kick everyone at every level out of office and start fresh with no interference from big business lobbyists. Sigh, pipe dreams... http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CAMPAIGN_DIGITAL_STRATEGY?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=

I am all for "throwing the bums out" top to bottom. IMHO term limits should be mandatory for all offices of government - state, local and federal. Career politicians should be illegal in America :lol Personally I'd love it if we went a step further and the media were banned from even so much as hinting who they were rooting for. Now it's too obvious - the media as a whole has become activists and mouthpieces for the various political agendas. |

I'd like to eliminate pensions and other perks for all elected offices. Maybe that would keep some people from making politics a life long career. And post-presidential secret service coverage should be limited to one term. After that they can pay for their own body guards. |

I do not Google at all- it's removed from my search engine choices. I do facebook but only maybe 2 posts a day and many days I don't even log on there. So they'd have a hard time advertizing to me there. |

I am all for kicking out the whole bunch and starting over since it will take a few decades for it to get back to the way it is now. Since we can't I already know who I'll vote for and could care less about any ad since they mean nothing to me and can't convince me to change what I intend to do. Our system is one of the best systems in the world for electing people to office our founding fathers worked hard to try to make it fair. That is why we have the electorial college this keep populous areas and states from being the ones who get all the say with their vote to put new people into office and makes it so all states have a meaningful part in the election. What happens after awhile is people see that they can vote in people who will see they are taken care of once that happens the system no longer works well. Now if we could start over it would take awhile before that would happen again but it will. We are humans and none of us here in the US or the world are perfect so we have imperfect governments but I still like ours better than any other countries but I don't know how long that is going to be true. |

This is the crux of the matter. I don't want to be cookie'd and mined for data . . . If I want info, I'll seek it out myself. The 'net is a good thing, but portions of it are a tremendous intrusion. |

Well I have noticed that wherever I go on the internet there are ads that ask me to vote for Romney or for Obama so I guess they haven't figured out who I am for and I just ignore them just like I ignore all ads on the internet. You can be on facebook and not get involved in all their ads. I never go to the web page of any politician if I want to complain about something I don't like I go to the state they are in and then send an email to all so I am an equal opportunity complainer. |

Meh. I think that all lobbyest/campain money should go in a big pot and be doled out equially to the main participants. No useing your own money. And there should be a cap. And all TV stations must allow X amount of time for ads and debates. OR the ads/debates should be on a govn tv station (basicatly - ads etc shouldn't be costing hundreads of thousands of dollars a pop.). I wonder - if we took say the last 10 elections and how much money was spent on both presidential and congressional elections and applied it to the deficet we may not even HAVE a deficet. But then I also think it would be neat if it was done like a Miss america contest. Every state gets a canidate... (yeah I'm weird.) |

Something I've been wondering....Since Congress has to approve the appointees to the executive Cabinet positions, is it possible for them to vote to recall them? Or does only the President have the right to remove them? Although I would like all of them gone, I'm thinking especially of the head of the so called Department of Justice. |
