More than a third of divorce filings last year included the word "Facebook," according to a British survey by Divorce Online.

Some 80 percent of divorce lawyers also say they've seen a rise in cases related to social networking.

I have been saying this for quite some time.It is not Facebooks fault. It is the married couples who allow this to happen. If Facebook was not available do you think it would happen anyway by other means?

It is the same as the gun doesn't shoot anyone the person holding it does. Facebook can not be used to abuse or be unfaithful unless the person using it decides to do it. People need to take responsibility for their actions and quit trying to blame objects for their misdeeds and bad judgement.

Someone I dated, many years ago, sent me a message, asking for my cell number.

I said no, my husband and I had an agreement.

I was having very hard times, and would have loved a shoulder to cry on... but knew that could lead to trouble.

I think that the people who are prone to stray probably would have found a way to do so with or without facebook, twitter, etc. HOWEVER, I also think that using social media to facilitate your affair makes it more likely to be found out by the partner.

I agree, if someone is going to stray they will find a way to do without Facebook or other social networking sites.
