Wish Martha Stewart was My Sister!

Posted Image Hi, everybody! Jump in, the water's fine . . . What should we call this thread, here at our new digs? I'm not sure the ND (Not Deceived) part carries over well . . . so many folks don't know the story & the guy who said the all of us at the original RR board were deceived hasn't been around in years. Chat Central was all I could think of, besides "Chat Stew" and I'm sure that phrase is copyrighted. :lol But, we can always get a mod to change the title for us, I'll bet! :nod Posted Image |

Rainbo, there was another attack in Europe. The guy had actually killed and eaten a couple of people by the time they caught him. |

Hmmm, cannibalism - don't remember seeing that as a mental disorder in the DSM-IV when I was in grad school. :blech I've often wondered what the diagnosis was of Jeffrey Dahmer. Sounds like a fun weekend, John! :nod We started our morning out with a 2-room carpet project in a 1-bedroom apartment. It's gonna be nice to have that apartment freshened up! I have tenants moving in there next week. I hoping this guy who's doing the job is really good because I'd like to hire him for some more projects. Okay, have to put dinner in the crockpot & go show some houses this afternoon. I'd be absolutely delighted to sell all 3 of them! 1 is a listing of Sweetie's, the other 2 are my listings. Our subdivision is having it's annual 1st Saturday in June garage sales day. The neighborhood is packed with cars. I don't like to do yardsales at my own house - for one thing, no room in the garage to do it, for another thing, it's hard to set up in the front yard with no way to keep things from blowing around in the wind. I really need to hold one though. Hopefully in the next empty rental, sometime this summer, I'll be able to set up and hold a sale. Anybody want to come & help me get it set up? :lol Hope you're all having a great Saturday! |

Oo, take me with you, Cathy! Posted Image It is absolutely broiling hot outside - 96 degrees at the moment. :pant The first set of buyers didn't show up, but I had a nice talk with the sellers who were at the house making repairs. The second house, the buyers showed up & will be at my office on Monday morning to write an offer on that house! Yay!! It's a low offer, but not a "let's-steal-this-house" low. :heh So, we'll see . . . |

Have fun Cathy! I'd go to the beach myself today, but we have started our famous June gloom. Cloudy and 64 degrees. No road trip for us today. We forgot that there is one part of the drive to Sacramento that goes up to 5000 feet elevation. There is no easy way around it. So we wound up putting dss on an Amtrak to Oakland, where his mom will pick him up. The train left at 7 this morning, he arrives in Oakland at 9:30pm. Then they drive to Sacramento. Hooo boy, that's a long day. I am beat after all the excitement after the accident. Didn't realize just how much it took out of me, but today dh and I just crashed and took a long nap. He's still snoozing. We decided to do something fun. At least I hope it's fun :heh Dh and I have really different taste when it comes to books and movies. We have challenged ourselves to read the book that is the favorite of the other. So if he ever wakes up, we'll head to Barnes and Noble where he will get Lonesome Dove and I will get The Stand. It'll be interesting to see how we do :evil |

Moo, June gloom doesn't sound like any fun. :no Hope your dss makes the trip to Sacramento comfortably. And that you & your sweetie get some rest! Sweetie & I showed houses to customers in this blistering heat this afternoon. He thought about calling me to see if I wanted to trade buyers to work with, but he didn't do it. :lol His guy is a good guy, but the wife - well, she's mentally unstable. The husband told Sweetie that she's off her meds. It really was pretty bad - she was confrontational all afternoon & finally left in the car, stranding the husband at our office for a couple of hours. Sweetie called me up & told me he's always appreciated me, but he wanted me to know he appreciates me eeeeeven more today. :happytears DS & a best buddy have gone to the city for the evening to visit a buddy who they haven't seen for a few months. I hope that all goes well. I'm going to look for some family photos I can't find. I had them recently, and am not sure where I put them - ? How was your day at the beach, Cathy? . . . and how was your day working at the cabin, John? The carpet job on the apt turned out really nice. Edited by barb43, June 2, 2012, 7:19 pm.

We had a nice morning at the beach. :): I came home and decided to sweep and mop the landing. Some birds have decided to nest over the stairs and they make an AWFUL mess. We've told maintenance, but they have yet to come clean out the nest and seal it up. As I was sweeping, I found a dead baby bird. Makes me awful glad I decided to sweep and mop, blech! I plumb worn out, but after it dries I'm actually going to mop it again with REALLY hot (boiling) water. Don't want to track in any yucky germies... |

Hi guys! Barb: Always nice to be appreciated! :): Cathy: oh that's sad about the bird. :(: Glad you had a nice day at the beach though. Moo: Praying for your son. So today I bought some stepping stones at home depot... going to cover up the now bare dirt area between my porch and the house. There were weeds and a very invasive ivy plant there before. My handyman/landscaper got it out - he said it was going up under the siding. not good! Anyway I made three trips. The birds ate 4 cups of bird seed today. I didn't see many around the feeder at one time.. just a group of 5 here or 6 there - most on the ground. I think one or two perchs on the feeder and knocks seeds to the ground then they eat it off the ground. My parents (well my dad) adapted a dog today. They lost their dog "bear" a few months back to cancer (again. They lost their last dog to cancer as well.) And recently one of their cats passed away as well. So my dad saw an adaption event in the paper and checked it out. And adaupted an 11 month old lab (mix they think). All black. My mom said she just looked up and there was a dog in the yard! :lol So my dad said he was getting a name tag - and mom asked what he was going to name her and he kinda shrugged... then brought back a name tag with "Bear" on it! Hello - that was the last dog's name. Mom said "no way" and gave him a list of names. They settled on Samantha - or Sammi girl. :): (and yeah mom spelled it out for me.) I admit I too got some new pets - wasn't expecting it. I had a few of my spiders die the last few months. One right before vacation. I had a feeling I was going to lose him - he had been acting strange sense his last molt. Sometimes they can have hidden injuries. anyway I was at the pet store today to pick up fish (for the garter snakes) and decided to check out what they had... and they had a ton of "choco" golden knee babies. I have one already but I think it's male - and I like to have two if possible of everything as a back up. then they had a good size (2") spider called "rio grand gold" (I had the pet shop guy look up the latin name - I have it written on the deli cup but I don't have it in front of me) This little guy is an all over dustly tan/yellow. The price for the choco was 25 and they are pretty common so I wondered if I could get a discount. So I said - if I wait will these guys be on sale? And one of the pet store guys said - well how much would you pay - I said 20... especially in light of the fact I was thinking of getting the other spider as well (the other spider was priced at 64.99) so he said he'd do both for 80. :): And when I got home Missy darted into the garage again. Brat. She was on top of the car again but this time came in the first time I opened to door for her. Gotta go feed critters. :): |

:lol I'm glad I had already decided to mop again. The neighbor guy came home and left boot prints on my nice, clean landing. (It's raining.) No worries, I already had water boiling. I got rid of the few boot prints and disinfected the landing to my satisfaction (the cement landing was left steaming behind my mop). It'll be lovely when it dries. :): Dinner is almost ready, going to kick back and enjoy some Big Bang Theory and look forward to my chicken divan. :yum |

Lady Sharon I could get you tons of spiders for free! Fuzzy black ones with white spots and neon green fangs, wolf spiders, spiders that kinda look like crabs that spin orb webs they spin them between the trees around face high, ones that are spin a tangled mess for a web, I think they are brown with darker brown stripes, and the fun ones that are shiny black with a red hour glass on their abdomen (black widows). Teeny tiny green spiders, and itty bitty red ones.... Take your pick :lol We seem to have a bumper crop of spiders this year, at least the ones that spin the ugly messy webs, I'm having a full time job keeping the darn things outta my house :tsk |

:lol I have plenty of those running around too Stacy. though some people DO keep widows as pets I don't have any desire to do so. (there poison is more potent.) Going to put some seed in the feeder now and sit out there with my camera and kindle.... |

Have fun! I had a great time at church today (Calvary Chapel). One of the guys on the evangelism team is going to help me "do up" the Bibles for handout, with CC contact info for the recipients. SO cool. That's one thing that I worry about the recipients: them finding a good church home after getting saved, or while seeking Him. Now I can pray it, and direct them. |
