Wish Martha Stewart was My Sister!

Posted Image Hi, everybody! Jump in, the water's fine . . . What should we call this thread, here at our new digs? I'm not sure the ND (Not Deceived) part carries over well . . . so many folks don't know the story & the guy who said the all of us at the original RR board were deceived hasn't been around in years. Chat Central was all I could think of, besides "Chat Stew" and I'm sure that phrase is copyrighted. :lol But, we can always get a mod to change the title for us, I'll bet! :nod Posted Image |

Heh, Spencer! Good to see you here! Sharon, I read on your blog after you mentioned last evening that you'd posted about your cruise. I'd sell that property to the thugs in the blink of an eye if they had any money. Their money comes from stolen goods & drugs, if they have any at all. They see that vacant house as fair game for their use - they have no sense of responsibility or boundaries. That somebody owns that house doesn't mean anything to them - it never crosses their minds, I'd bet. Sweetie 'n I went over there on our way home but no one was hanging around. I had every intention of calling the police to come check 'em out, maybe press charges for trespassing, if nothing else. I'll have to cruise that neighborhood at various times of the day I guess. That doesn't seem fair, Cathy, that the bus didn't come. We've only had bus service here for 10 yrs, but those buses do keep a pretty tight schedule - every 15 minutes. Well . . . I'd better go to bed. Gotta do it all over again tomorrow. :bed Edited by barb43, May 29, 2012, 10:04 pm.

Good morning everyone! Psyching myself up this morning - have to make a big loop, checking houses for storm damage this afternoon & making marketing reports. (I think I'm a tad bit depressed over that house not closing yesterday. I gotta find some things today to put in my 'win' column, or at least in the 'draw' column. :lol It'll be okay.) I think Faithy dog's nickname should be "Queenie" - she "perches" on things, with her shoulder braced against a pillow or a comforter or a chair arm, folds her front legs daintily in front of her and watches whatever is going on around her. DS pointed out that her collar is missing. I've gotta make a sweep around the backyard & through the house to see if I can find it. Clearly it wasn't tight enough. |

Oh, John, that's funny. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of her acting "queenly". They're all such funny animals. Hope you have a great day too. |

Hi Everyone! :grouphug Welcome Scribble, Yep your acct is working :nod Barb, I'm praying that all your houses are fine and that you have a great day. Faithy sounds so cute! Woot! My redneck birdbath is a success :love Around 2 days ago I bought 2 semi thick vinyl plant saucers, left them nested together, put it near where I feed the birds and filled it with water. Total cost for the bird bath was less then 3 dollars. The birds are already using it. I've got an Eastern blue bird out there taking a bath, and the cardinals have been drinking out of it just about every day. Total cost was less then 3 dollars. I think I'm gonna need to refill it, I bet the Eastern Blue Birds have nearly splashed all the water out of it :lol Edited by Rainbo, May 30, 2012, 10:22 am.

I've waited up to 2 hours on a bus. Ugh. However, I remind myself, on those occasions, that I don't pay auto insurance, auto repairs, gas, or any of that. I just pay 60 cents a trip (I have a "disabled" pass). I've been talked into writing our story. It should be interesting. I think I will start by talking about how my mother married 6 times, tried to kill herself, lost 2 babies, and drank a lot, every day, even before "my" pregnancy. Or, maybe how Ron's mother's doctor kept telling her to abort him. Barb, some cultures have really poor boundaries. I had to call the police on my neighbors because they kept parking in my driveway and sitting in my yard. Their kids were using my yard as a playground until I locked the gate and wrote their father a letter. Rainbo, my birds love their water saucers. |

Quick popping in. Thinking and praying about you guys as always. (I tend to do general "protection" prayers) So... I bought a bird feeder and some bird feed. It's a smaller feeder for about 5 bucks. Set it up Monday in a tree. Nothing. Tuesday morning - I saw birds at it. Tuesday evening... I walked out and a zillion birds flew away - leaving one that didn't give a hoot that I was there. And the bird feeder was half empty. I think it's empty now. :eek I think I'll buy a BIG bag and just put a scoop in a day and when it's gone tough luck. I may have to move it htough. I can see it from the house but I can't see the birds very well. :thinking |

Do you sprinkle any of the seeds on the ground? I sprinkle some on the ground for the ground feeding birds and the rabbits. I limit how much I put out because the birds will pick out the seeds they like best and toss the rest out of the feeders onto the ground. |

Thrifty thrifty thrifty! We love bird watching too, and a water feature is a good thing to attract birds. Take care! John |

one bird told 2 friends and they told 2 other friends and so on and so on! Feeding birds can be expensive, but helps if you buy bird feed in bulk! Enjoy! Painter John from Canada! |

Not on purpose. :didisaythat I accidently knocked over the bag and left a small pile of seeds on the ground.
I'm wondeirng if the feed store has a good bird seed mix? (I pass it on the way home.) The one I bought was formulated to attract a wide varity of birds - of course all I see is the brown and black ones. :lol |

In my effort to not be featured on How Clean is Your House, or Hoarders: Buried alive, I was cleaning my bathroom shelf. I was wiping it off with a Lysol cleaning cloth when I felt something pierce my finger. I looked and I had managed to run a really thin sewing needle through the cloth, all the way through the pad of my finger and then through the cloth again. :freaked I pulled the needle out, washed the area really well, then doused it with peroxide. Yeah instead of one of the cleaning shows, I'm gonna be on Bizarre ER.... :heh |

:yes It can get really expensive. I was getting one of the better blends but it was getting to be more then I was willing to spend. I don't like the cheap blends because the birds around here just throw out the cheap filler seeds so I end up spending a fortune anyway. Lately I've been getting Hartz Bird Diet for Medium Birds in the 5lb bag. It's technically for pet birds but the wild birds around here like it just fine and it's less then $5. The other stuff I was buying was around $8 for the same amount of seed. |
