:wave . . . busy day, and a good one! Really hot & humid. I was in and out of the heat & steam all throughout the day. I must be acclimating because I'm not nearly as worn out tonight as I have been the past few days. That's so hard to imagine, Carmen, that the nh would allow the residents to have a little alcohol. Mm, boy, that never happened at the nh where my mom was. :lol There are still 14 counties in Oklahoma that are "dry" counties - liquor by the drink is not legal. :eek They may each be voting on it later this month ... along with the whole state voting on legalizing medical marijuana. Okay, I'm gonna run out back with the dogs and see if it's clear enough to see the crescent moon & Venus, and then I'm heading off to bed. See y'all tomorrow! :grouphug |

Good morning! I have collected up a cute, dark-stained wooden box that has the word "Recipes" routed into the front of it. It's the size to hold 3"X5" cards. So I decided this morning was the time to sort it out. Oh, my, it was crammed full to overflowing with all kinds of recipes written on everything from 3X5 card to the back of store receipts that might have been an inch wide. Some of the recipes are so faded, I can't read them. There are store lists and "to do" lists and notes, like "Call Aunt Ann" with a phone number. This is precious! Gotta wrap it up & get outside to work in the yard a bit . . . Y'all have a wonderful Saturday! |

Good morning, Mel, Scott, Carmen, Jeanette, Cathy . . . Hope any and all of you who may be celebrating Father's Day in any way have a wonderful time of it! We're not doing anything in particular. I gave Sweetie a card that made him laugh (I was pretty sure he'd 'get it' the same way it struck me). We're cooking a good lunch together. I was planning to NOT work today but I do have to meet with a buyer at 1 to go over his offer. Not sure it's the right house for him, but if it is, we need to get the paperwork signed and delivered to the other Realtor. We're waiting on our Sunday paper to come. I called in because it wasn't here at 8 this morning. The lady in circulation said yes, they know there's a problem with this route and they have 2 people out working it as fast as they can go. Haven't reached our house yet, and it's almost 11:30. :ohno Hope to go grocery shopping this afternoon, but we'll see if that work out. |

Another hot and humid day. The humidity just wipes a person out. Went into work for a few hours today. Had fun working with 2 new residence. It was very warm in the NH. Had the energy to walk on the TM after taking a short nap. :giggle Did you get your Sunday paper Barb??? That happened to us at times and it always rather late in the day. :grouphug |

Hello!
:wave The temperature here today got up into the mid 90's and very humid. The sermon at church this morning was a continuation of the pastors ongoing chapter by chapter study of the Book of Numbers rather than a Father's day message. I had to work this afternoon and evening, but I stopped in at my parents place for a little while before work to give Dad his Father's day card and cake. I'm back home now enjoying the air conditioning with May. :May |

Good evening! Well, it's good morning for most of y'all. It's just past midnight here on the left coast. I just got home a couple of hours ago. My honey and I spent the weekend in Yakima with his family for Father's Day. We actually went Friday afternoon for a wedding Mark was photographing. It was a cute, small ceremony, but it was also sad. I didn't know until afterwards, but the bride is quite young, 22 or so, and has faced some serious health problems. The groom is (I learned) 38 and this is his third marriage! Flashbacks to my own bad first marriage! Not only the age difference, but there was some weirdness with their vows that they wrote. He seems quite controlling and she seemed very unhappy. The whole thing was really strange and sad. I hope that the Lord gets ahold of them both and that it works to His good will. The rest of the weekend was fabulous. My soon-to-be in-laws just returned from a month long trip to Texas. They brought me a sterling silver charm bracelet with two charms and will add to it as time goes on. It's my first ever charm bracelet and I love it! All of the ladies in the family have them and now I do too. One charm is two intertwined silver hearts. The other charm is a silver and CZ engagement ring! I absolutely adore it! I usually stay at my aunt's house when we go visit his family. She only lives a few miles away. But, she wasn't feeling well, having trouble with her heart. So, I stayed with his fam in the spare room. They just couldn't be any kinder to me, already treat me like family. This is the last time I'll have to worry about staying there in a different room and carefully keeping my door closed all night. I'M GETTING MARRIED ON FRIDAY! SCREAM!!!!! :joy :heart2 I am indescribably happy and excited. He is too. I am blessed beyond ALL measure, can't wait! I took a fair amount of teasing and innuendo from friends, family, and fiance over the weekend. LOL I still have to work several days this week, though not too many hours. And, I have to move most of my stuff over to his house before we leave for Idaho Friday morning. I am done with school until fall quarter in mid September, registered for full time again in the fall with microbiology, nutrition, and MS word. Have I told you all about my job? I am working for my sister's mother and father in-law. Her father-in-law was my pastor when I was a teen, when I first met Mark. He is dying. His wife has myriad health problems of her own, the main one is that she is morbidly obese. I work for them ten hours per week. It is mostly laundry (she is incontinent) and housework. So, I will work tomorrow and Tuesday 2-4 and Wednesday 12-3. Other than that, I only have to pack and move my stuff over to Mark's house and get ready to get married. I already got my hair cut last week. I have ordered my bouquet and his boutonniere and will pick those up on Thursday. I have purchased my wedding clothes (cowboy casual, wearing a white skirt and blue top with cowboy boots and maybe my jean jacket unless it's too hot), and some pretty new night-things. I desperately need to get my eyebrows waxed, left that till this week on purpose. And, if I have enough money remaining will get my nails done. We've done quite a bit of work at his house to get it ready for me to move in. He's been a bachelor for several years and he hates throwing things away. And so, despite all of our work, it's nowhere near ready for me to move in! LOL I think I'll start taking stuff over tomorrow while he's at work. Yes, he knows that I intend to do so. I've been living with my sister and her family for the past year. They have just sold their house (I live in the basement) and will be moving next month. It would probably be OK if I didn't get everything moved until after the honeymoon. And yet, it would also probably be better for her sanity if I managed to get everything out before we leave Friday morning. I'll try my best. I don't have any furniture or anything, just lots of clothes and shoes and books and bathroom/beauty supplies. No idea how I'll manage to fit it all in at Mark's house! I have a handful of Simon's things that he left with me when he went off to school. Sigh, breathe in and out, in and out. Can you tell I'm excited? |

OH! And since I am here and excited and can't sleep because I'm excited I might as well brag to you all about the Spring quarter of school that I just finished! I was 3/4 time for Spring. I took Anatomy & Physiology 2 (second quarter of the same subject) and finished with (drum roll please, I'm quite proud of this grade) 99.37% WITHOUT doing the single extra credit assignment that was offered. I also took a Public Speaking class and finished that one with 102.54%, also a good grade but a much less challenging (though scarier) subject and I did take advantage of one of the opportunities for extra credit. I only have 2 quarters of prerequisites remaining and will be applying to the Dental Hygiene program this coming winter. This summer will be my first quarter off of school since I started college a year and a half ago. I will use the time off to get used to being married again ( :joy :heart2 ), to log 100 hours of volunteer community service (through the Union Gospel Mission where Mark is chaplain, it gives me an extra point towards admission to the hygiene program), and to study for the admission exam, the HESI. It's like MCATS or DCATS that doctors have to take for admission to medical/dental school. |
