We had some bad storms go through this morning. The storms were not suppose to be that way. There was quarter size hail, wind gusts up to 50 and lots and lots of rain. Some areas had up to 5 inches. It sure got dark out. But we lucked out and had another cooler day before the heat and humidity set in tomorrow.

Mel glad the storms were far from U and May. Does she ever get scared with the bad storms??

Barb I kept thinking today was Friday as well. :lol

Have a good evening Jeanette, Cathy, Barb, Mel, Scott and anyone else who stops by.

May does OK in storms except when there is a lot of really loud thunderclaps close together. Then she loses her furry little mind and races around the house like a wild thing.

Can you grab her up and hold her or wrap something around her and hold her? I tell my chicken dogs I'll be their "thunder shirt" and I lean down and wrap my arms around them (works well for the 2 big girls). Leela, Houston, & Ge'dogg like to swarm all over me if I'm on the couch or in bed when they get scared.

We had heat indices in the low 100's today. Pretty hot & steamy.

That's a lot of rain, Carmen. Do your streets flood in weather like that? Ours would.

Loved the doggie story Barb. :lol

I would be careful about wrapping a cat in something to calm them, my older brother tried that with our Siamese during a bad storm and he ended up getting scratched a lot.

After that she would just race around like May or go hide under something and get in the farthest corner she could. We had a black cat named Feisty and when the storms got her scared she would go to our parents bedroom and meow until Mom would get up to sit with her. :heh Funny how our pets react so differently from each other.

Forgot to answer your question Barb. Yes the streets flood like crazy.

We will have heat indices from 100 to 110 this weekend. I plan on staying inside where it is cool.

That would probably not be advisable. Normally May is very affectionate and loving, but when she is scared she will attack anyone who tries to get near her biting and clawing. I find it best to wait for her to mostly calm down and then very carefully try to pet her without attempting to pick her up.

Poor May! Hopefully she doesn't get too upset too often.

Neither of our cats seemed bothered by storms, or artillery fire. If Tikki or Chelsey were in the house, they usually wanted to cuddle up with us wherever we were in the house. They'd both stand up on their hind feet and pull on us with their front paws. All we could ever figure was they wanted us to sit down so they could jump up and lay on us. We had Tikki for 7 years and then after him we had Chelsey for probably 6 or 7 years. They were great cats.

Gonna be another hot one around here today ...

I can't believe how cold it has been here of late. It's supposed to warm up considerably over the weekend and I can hardly wait. Human nature what it is I'll probably be complaining about the heat then! :lol

:hysterical That's pretty funny, Scott! How cold has it been there? It's 97 at the moment, with a heat index of 102. :faint

Had a ball out showing a couple of houses to a man this afternoon. Hopefully, he's gonna write an offer later this evening or maybe tomorrow.

Still blowin' & goin' (as we used to say in the army) ... have to meet a contractor at 6 with another buyer. If he says he can remove most of a wall in a "boxy" kitchen to open it up to the living room, she'll make an offer on the house (she's very claustrophobic). I'm hopeful. So if I'm not writing an offer for the other guy this evening, then I hope I'm writing an offer for this gal. :wink

Daytime highs of low to mid 60s with night time lows of low 50s. Is this the middle of June?! We're expecting heat like you have starting Monday.

Could feel the heat and humidity today, but not as bad as tomorrow. High tomorrow 95-97 w/ heat index of 100-105.

I worked at another NH today, do not think I stopped laughing all day for the most part. They had a social this afternoon for the June birthdays. They will let the residence have some alcohol but on limited amount. I worked with a gal who had one small glass of vodka and boy oh boy she could feel the effects. She is funny anyway but to have the alcohol added on.... :hysterical. We both just kept laughing, she just turned 66.

Worked with several Vets and it was so nice just talking with them.

No plans for this weekend, staying in where the AC is.

Have a great weekend all.

It has been unusually cool here most of the Spring, but this coming weekend is supposed to get up into the 90's with triple digit temperatures possible on Monday and Tuesday.
