When I came home from work this evening, a moth got into the house with me. May is having a grand time chasing after it. |

Good morning! . . . shaping up to be another hot, humid day. I have to head NE about an hour and show a house. Was just checking to be sure I have the lockbox combination for it. Yes, I am so thankful to God for my life, and all that He has brought my way. That's a great, uplifting poster you've posted there, Mel. :): How are things going at your church? |

So far as I know, there hasn't been much in the way of new developments on the possible split from our denomination since the conference that I mentioned a few weeks ago. On the positive side, it looks like our local congregation is pretty much unanimous in holding to the Biblical view of God's omniscience that we have always taught regardless of what happens on the national denominational level. I still can't wrap my head around how so many of our previously conservative denomination's leaders have jumped on the super liberal "Open Theism" bandwagon in such a short period of time. They have even made the writings of T Richard Rice mandatory reading at our seminaries. If you are not familiar with Open Theism, it is a false teaching which basically says that because humans were created with free will God can't really know the future for sure and therefore the prophecies in the Bible are just His best guess at what could happen. The various versions of this false teaching either ignore or attempt to explain away the many Biblical affirmations of God's all-knowing nature and certain foreknowledge. Edited by M. We are having a relatively cool (mid 60's) rainy day here today. At church this morning, we sang one of my favorite hymns from my childhood church that I don't think I have heard used for several years: "It is Well With My Soul". After church, I had lunch with my parents. I'm back home now getting ready to enjoy a lazy afternoon with May. |

Nicer day, sunny and bit cooler after night of rains. Some areas had 6 or more inches of rain and hail that was golf ball size and larger. Lots of flooding this morning. :lol That may is a character, would have loved to seen her chase the moth. :grouphug |

That's one of my favorites. We used to sing it often @ the Baptist church out in the mountains. Good showing over in Grady county. 👍 Going home to dance around the kitchen awhile, putting up clean dishes & starting dinner. |

Hi!
:wave We sang "It is Well With My Soul" at my church yesterday too. I adore the old hymns, wish we could sing more of them. Can one of you fill me in on the convention news you were discussing? Our pastor is off at the SBC convention right now and prayers are requested on our church FB account but I've been too busy with school to follow any news, even church news. I've been posting to FB, but not much time for any other online presence. Barb suggested that I check in here to update on all of my stuff so here I am! Today I finished my last quiz of Spring quarter at school. I only had two classes this quarter but they were doozies. I had a public speaking course, finished with 102.5% thanks to an extra credit assignment. I would have had an A anyway but the extra credit put me over 100%. My "hard" class was my second quarter of anatomy and physiology. Assignments graded to date put me at 99.12%, after today's quiz and lab assignment are added plus the homework grade for the entire quarter, I should finish at 99.21% and that is WITHOUT doing the one extra credit assignment that was offered! There is still one more test in that course, but my grade is high enough that I don't have to sit the final. Normally I would have done the extra credit assignment, would have upped my grade to 101.27%, but it's still an A. I don't get any extra kudos for being above 100%. And, I have to say that I am fairly proud of having such an excellent grade in a difficult subject without having done any extra credit! So, now I am finished with school until September 17th. Even better than school and good grades, I AM GETTING MARRIED NEXT FRIDAY!!! We are eloping to Idaho. There was a slight mixup with the reservation for our honeymoon so we only have the lake cabin for three days. No worries, we are discussing options for the rest of the week. It's a simple elopement so there wont be tons of pictures, but I'll try to find one of two worth sharing. I'll have all summer to adjust to my new life, then am scheduled to do microbiology, nutrition, and MS word in the fall. Loving life at the moment. This is a good season. :heart |

The convention that I referred to in a few of my recent posts was not the Southern Baptist one, but one involving my home church and several other churches which are part of the "Brethren in Christ" denomination. Put simply, the BIC leadership have recently come out in support of the false teaching of "Open Theism" promoted by T Richard Price. On the National level, most of the BIC churches and seminaries are jumping on that bandwagon even going so far as making acceptance of that teaching mandatory for all future pastor ordinations, but our congregation and a few others are opposing the change. It is possible but not certain that we may split from the denomination over this issue in the near future. Whether that means that we would be forming a new denomination with some or all of the other like minded churches at the conference or going independent / nondenominational has yet to be decided. Good morning!
:wave . . . Already smotheringly humid this morning, windy, and 80 degrees at 8 a.m. This summer is shaping up to be a doozy. As much as I love the heat, I'm not a fan of the humidity. :B: Good to see you here, Cathy! Happy school is going so well for you. :): ... and I think your upcoming wedding sounds like great fun. :D: Edited by barb43, June 12, 2018, 7:01 am.

Well, ds called just after 10 a.m. to say he was on his way to work and a 17-yr old girl ran a 'yield' sign and T-boned his car on the passenger side. :(: He wasn't hurt, and she admitted to the police officer & ds that it was her fault. She had an insurance card so ds took a picture of it and got her name & phone number. He's called the insurance company & they've already posted a handful of messages to my dashboard (it's USAA and I'm the umbrella account holder). :greeneyeroll ... :B: |
