I don’t remember if that Tinkerbell was from WWII (It had 11 camels on it though, not sure of their colors though) One plane at the Carolina aviation museum I noticed had a lot of camels on it, also, ‘just don’t remember what they stand for The bug day at the Schiele Museum was actually about bugs. People that studied bugs were ther including the Bug Whisperer Guy, Tony gustin. He was informative & entertaining There was even going to be a bug eating contest Ugh Learned about a lot of everyday foods that have bug parts in them :tape Enjoy the doggie stories & cat ones! :grouphug |

:wave Good morning, all! Sweetie knows a lot about planes; I know more about bugs - had a fantastic entymology class in college. :D: Your Pentecost poster is great, Mel - somehow I missed it yesterday. We found the museum of Biblical art in Dallas years back and saw the performance explaining Pentecost. It was pretty neat. It's cool out this morning, at 60 degrees. But should warm up this afternoon. |

Given the importance of the Holy Spirit's coming at Pentecost, I find it surprising that (around here at least) so few Protestant churches observe it in any significant way. At my own church this Sunday, it was mentioned that it was Pentecost during the opening announcements and we sang some of the older hymns that mention the Holy Spirit, but the main part of the service was business as usual and the sermon was a continuation of the pastor's ongoing study of the book of Numbers. Perhaps it is because of all the years that I went to the Catholic church with Sharon, but I personally find great value in observing the major holy days in the traditional church calendar, and I think it is a shame that (with the exceptions of Christmas and Easter) it is largely ignored by the majority of Protestant denominations. Of course, I also believe that the Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox have taken things too far in the other direction with all of Saint's feasts and other non-biblical holy days that have been added to the calendar over the centuries. That sounds like it would be really great. I would love to have something like that around here. Edited by M. Hawbaker, May 21, 2018, 7:42 am.

Well, American Idol is all done for this year. I only watched the last 15 minutes. Maria was greatly disappointed. She had it all figured out who would win, place and show but it ended up nothing like her predictions. The young lady who won looks very much like the late Patsy Cline only with blond hair. Yeah, I know, it's a singing contest not a beauty pageant but this was one of the few time I watched this season. |
