Barb praying for a good outcome with dh. :pray2 :hug

One of the coworkers at the NH passed away yesterday. She had a severe asthma attack over the weekend and could not catch her breath, she quit breathing and a neighbor did CPR on her. She was air lifted to the University Hospital. She was placed on life support and had hopes but there were no brain waves and the plug was pulled yesterday. Her hubby stopped by today, did not know what to say but gave him a big hug. We had him for a patient a short time, the couple were so loving. It just breaks my heart. He said he held her hand for 12 hours before the plug pulled. :cry :pray2

It was another beautiful day. Glad tomorrow is Friday. Have been putting in some long hours going between 2 nursing homes to work. One gentleman had to explain to me all the fine things about the Catholic faith. :preach He thought I would convert. I just laughed and said no thanks I got Jesus.

There is a big water leak in the bottom apartment so we can't flush the toilet or turn on any water until they said it was safe to. Ha it is after hours and I have another long day tomorrow so I am just going to go to bed. :bed

That is just heart-breaking. I hope they will be together one day in heaven.

Thanks for your prayers for Sweetie. He saw his gp doc this afternoon & they're setting him up for a PET scan one day next week. Sweetie's calling the urologist in the morning. He's ready to get this stuff done! :thumb

I gotta fix some dinner - I'm hungry. The power went out at the commissary and we all had to go stand at the front of the store. :greeneyeroll They were afraid people would be stuffing meat down their pants - they pulled shades to cover the meat cases right off. :ohno It was wild.

Last night, about 12, DS decided to clean up his room and bring down all of his dirty dishes. It's hard to decide who is the bigger idiot here. The cat was parked in his usual place (we all know he's there whether we can see him or not) half way down the stairs. DS tried to step over him rather than shoo him away. We're getting new dishes!

. . . and awakened the whole house in the process of not stepping on the cat, eh? :hysterical (heh, you might as well laugh - the deed is done :B: )

Does Maria have a particular brand and pattern picked out for new dishes?

Beautiful spring morning here ... should be in the high 70s today. I've got 3 things to finish up here at the office and then I'm heading out to enjoy this weather! :thumb

Loud! Very loud and drawn out as the plates clattered their way down the stairs. We're in a duplex so I am positive the neighbors were awakened too. :lol

They were plain, white everyday dishes that Maria bought from this swanky kitchenware store, Sur La Table. She will just buy more of the same. We all love that place so it's an opportunity to go and see what's new.

That sounds like fun! I've heard of that store but have never seen one (y'know where good ol' L-town rates on the swank meter :greeneyeroll ... :pound ).

Okay, all is handled at the office for the present time ... so I'm heading out to run errands. And then go home. :thumb

May has a bad habit of running between my feet as I go up or down the stairs. She has tripped me up more than once doing that.

Our old cat Gloria used to love to lie on the very top step and then take a flying leap down onto whoever was coming up the stairs. She also liked to get up on top of the kitchen cabinets and leap onto my back as I walked by.

Crazy cats.

Good morning, all!

Mel, Scott - I love y'all's cat stories. :lol Yeh, I miss having a cat sometime, but we couldn't keep one in the yard, let alone in the house, and we live next to a really busy street, so it wouldn't be safe.

More beautiful weather today! We're heading SE to a boonie area to preview a house for my buyer in Georgia. I don't know 'why', but I feel excited about this house - it may just be 'the one' for her. I'm hoping so, she reports to her new civil service position here in a month. :):

If it had been up to me we wouldn't have a cat in the first place. He's been with us for 14 years now and he's OK for the most part. He does not like being picked up but will tolerate it for up to a minute if a good head rub is included. What he did the other day surprised me. He climbed onto my lap and laid down! Two old farts just chillin' in the easy chair.
