Only 361 days until Christmas!

I'm getting my 2018 calendar ready to hang up when I take down the one for 2017 this weekend. It is kind of scary how many Dr appointments, dentist appointments, etc that I already have for this coming year.

Did you know that in 2018 Ash Wednesday is on Valentine's Day and Easter Sunday is on April Fools day?

Well Valentine's Day could be interesting for devout Catholics and Orthodox whose churches require them to fast on Ash Wednesday.

And Easter being on April Fool's Day raises all kinds of possibilities for pranks such as not actually hiding any eggs before the egg hunt, not cooking the eggs, etc. :heh (And no, I would not really do that, though I admit that I might be tempted)

Sorry cat lovers...

Maria, "Oops, spilled some popcorn."
Me, "If we had a dog it would eat it."
Maria, "But we have a cat. Cats are useless."

:lol That is so funny Scott.

We had about 4 inches of snow today. There was a big pileup on the interstate which blocked it most of the day. There was a no towing band in our county and those around us today. We are going to be in the deep freeze for the next several days.

Jeanette how have you been doing and what have you been up to???

43 degrees I am so jealous Barb. I am ready for spring.

Mel loved your insites to Valentines Day and Easter. :lol

Christmas Eve: AM) Sunday school breakfast & worship service. (Oh, and on 12/23, Saturday, I had baked some oatmeal lace cookies to give to our neighbors).

PM) at DD#2’s home. Nice. DD#1 & her family, DS & his girlfriend. (DD#3’s family were dealing with flu stuff.)(and a friend of DD#2 & her DH we’re unable to attend. They went to the VA hospital for the husband)

Eventually DD#2’s MIL & I got to watch a Christmas movie!

Jimmy John’s sandwiches, delicious cupcakes, veggies & fruit, & wonderful homemade by DD#2’s MIL Greek Cookies, etc

(I ate too much yummy food & desserts.)

Christmas Day we hosted a drop in: main meal was two whole beef tenderloins I had prep the day before & cooked in the slow cooker, plus a ham we had received from one of DH’s work related people in Chicago , baked beans, & cooked fresh green beans in garlic & butter, mashed potatoes, veggie tray , lace oatmeal cookies & pumpkin pie, pumpkin cupcakes I had made from scratch for that there Sunday school breakfast!

DD#2 & her family, then DD#1 & her kiddos, later, after work, DS, (his girlfriend was now ill), & later a friend stopped by on her way home.

A very blessed & unstressful Christmas!

(I ate too much yummy foods)

To be continued

12/26 AM: I Did a workout here at home, dropped leftovers at DD#3’s home, visited DD#2, (built a lego Plane, and visited grands) while my DH & DD#2 went target shooting,

(ate way too much yummy leftovers) :lol

12/27 I went to the gym for an 8 am deep water class, got home, DH & I dropped off something else that I forgot to DD#3’s home, got more gasoline as SC is less expensive, and then Went & picked up DD#1’s two kiddos, lunch out, science museum, etc, kept them overnight rented a movie, played board games, they stay up and play on on their phones or computers or something while DH & I r exhausted :lol

12/28 am I did a workout here on the home front, then a Walmart run, DH & grands made “monkey bread” aka break away cinnamon bread, played moreboard games, scrabble uno etc

12/29 am I made polish cookies for DD#1, kiddos woke up around 1, etc etc

After a few hands of UNO they left, we posted the mortgage, returned a movie, and walked the greenway.

So, as with any holiday, folks get sick, folks get better, and here it is almost 2018! Tomorrow we’ll visit DD#4& her family

Thankful for everyday still here, even when exhausted (good exhaustion, not overdoing it) or in pain ( keeps me focus on Jesus to see me through) or lack of good sleep, but rest is alright

Thankful for letting go of seemingly gigantic mountains only to lean that if I step or stomped on them they are molehills

:hysterical That's a good one, Mel! Too funny.

Sounds like your Christmas was great, Jeanette ... hope all the ill folks are feeling better by now.

What an awful wreck, Carmen. :freaked We're supposed to have teens & maybe even single digits most of Sunday & Monday, unless the forecast changes in the next 24 hrs.

Mmm, I don't know, Scott, don't think these dogs would eat popcorn, tho' they'll eat most anything else (except beans - Houston and Leela eat beans, but the rest do not).

Took down Christmas at the office Wednesday afternoon. Sweetie didn't even notice. :lol Here's our door - Suite 12. There were a half dozen or so more cards, but I didn't take an updated photo.

Well, I updated my facebook photo too ...

Posted Image

I'll update it again once I get my hair colored (it really needs it :ohno ). I'm not big on being photographed and that's something I need to get over, careerwise (after all these years). We'll see how that goes in 2018.

Oh, I’ve also been posing aT-Rex & Triceratops dinosaurs around the house & texting them “doing” stuff with little stories themes sending them to my kiddos and a friend.

The first one was them “teething” on a Christmas tree topped angel!
“Who needs an Elf on a shelf when there are dinosaurs about!”
