Hi, Carmen . . . this is what we've been taking: . . . picture is way bigger than I thought it would be, but you can almost read the ingredients. :heh *I couldn't stand that big box hitting me in the eye, everytime I opened this page, lol* Edited by barb43, February 10, 2018, 12:47 pm.

I stayed in all day, except to walk out through the garage and pay the pizza delivery man. DS went to wal-mart for me and picked up some cough syrup & mucinex. I'll take mom some clean laundry tomorrow and stop at the health food store for some more elderberry. :thumb How are the residents doing with getting the flu or avoiding it, Carmen? I hate to go see mom tomorrow, but she needs clean laundry & ds will be working. I also have to pick up a prescription at the refill pharmacy on post. Goal: get out, get it done; get back inside. :eyeroll One of my fellow Realtors keeps telling everyone to take care of themselves, "this flu is a doozie!" Mm, boy, is he right. I'm sure you're all tired of my whining about being sick. :lostwings I need a normal day. I need warm sunshine. :Sob Going to bed to read . . . :grouphug2 |

Barb we have been lucky at the nursing home and have not had a huge outbreak. There have been a few residence that had it and one passed away. We are keeping the fingers crossed that will be it. |

It is still pretty chilly here this morning, but the next several days are supposed to warm up considerably. Much of next week is predicted to be in the 50s. :pray2 for all needs. |

Wow Mel I am so jealous you will have the 50's next week, we will be in the 20's mostly. Do you have any snow?? We have about 8 inches. Jeanette hope your visit to urgent care went well. Uti's are nasty. The big snow we were to have last last night moved further north and we got maybe 3 inches. Could have freezing rain tonight turning to snow tomorrow. :snow Barb hope you all are feeling better. They said on the news that the second round of the flu is just starting. Have a good weekend all. :grouphug |

Not much snow, but lots of thick ice. This past Sunday and again on Wednesday, we had heavy sleet followed by freezing rain. |

Hi, all!
:wave I fixed a pot of this Asian soup for dinner: https://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/browse-all-recipes/sesame-chicken-noodle-bowl It is sooo deliciousness! I told Sweetie it should "fix what ails him!" Hope it does. We don't seem to have exactly the same type of crud. I know I was running a fever last evening, and maybe even for awhile this morning. I went back to bed and slept almost 2 hrs this morning. I'm coughing, but not as bad as a couple days ago. He just feels dizzy, foggy-headed. Y'know, I'm wondering if this is the difference between getting a flu shot (me) and not getting a flu shot (him)? The nursing home where mom is has the flu going on bigtime. They've turned part of one wing into the "flu ward - no entry". Mom's on the other side of the building and she and her roommate seem to be doing fine so far. Mom said they've sent several people to the hospital in the past couple days. They're passing out gloves & masks at each entry. I think that's really good of 'em! I had gloves with me, but not a mask, so I was happy to mask up when I got there this afternoon. I'm watching the end of The Replacements, one of my favorite movies. Heading to bed after that! :): |

DS went to the doctor to get his travel shots for the Israel trip. He came home all mad because the doctor will not give them unless he has a full physical first. I'm like, "What? Is that a law or something? He's out of his mind." Anything to make a buck, you know. So Maria and I both got on the net and found a nearby clinic which said, "No problem. Come in any time." Am I the only one to notice this? Bread doesn't seem to go bad any more. Seriously! Store bought, factory baked bread doesn't dry out or get moldy even after 2 weeks. It doesn't smell fresh any more but it's edible. Freshly baked in the store bread does dry out after a few days. I wonder what they are doing to it. |

Hi, Jeanette!
:wave How are you feeling? You're right about the bread, Scott. I think it's all the preservatives in the dough! Have you read the ingredients list lately? :freaked Houston D. Hound Dog was racing around the dining room a little bit ago and he flopped down, staring under a tall stand next to the china hutch. I wondered if he'd seen a mouse! Haven't seen any all season, but it's possible. I walked over to put some knives in the china hutch and I saw his "mouse" - he'd been batting around his rubber squeaky ball and it was under the stand. Poor pup! I had to get something and bat it out for him. He snatched up his ball and ran on. The other dogs are asleep - Houston was busy entertaining himself. He's 7 now, acts like a pup still. Really frigid here today, but thankfully the wind has died down a little - still close to 20 mph. Edited by barb43, February 10, 2018, 1:06 pm.
