I am so sick of hearing about the Superbowl. It been almost 24/7 on TV for the past 2 weeks. Can we get a rest, please?

Barb prayers for your dh's quick recovery and that you do not come with it.

It is about 50 here but feels a lot cooler with the clouds and breeze.

Loved Blazing Saddles :rofl Have not seen it for years. My sister told me about a sequel to The Passion of The Christ is coming out in 2020. Jim Clavesel plays Jesus again. Thought he did so well with the role.

Everyone seems to be having a super bowl party. Some guy spent 400 on eats and alcohol yesterday, he went through my sister's line. I can think of other ways to spend that money.

I can too, Carmen. :nod My late-MIL used to say, "If I had that money, I could pay a bill!" She was a lot of fun.

Yep - totally agree! Well, no super bowl anything going on at our house. :no

Blazing saddles is very funny, but can you imagine the outcry from the hyper political correctness crowd if a movie like that was made today?
Sweetie 'n I were talking about that very thing. It was shown on Outdoor channel, which I would have expected to be fairly rough & tough. But nooo, the N word was deleted throughout, as well as a couple of Madeline Khan's lines in the scene she had with Bart in the hotel. :shrug

Thank you all so much for your prayers for Sweetie! He went back to bed this morning, after I gave him some cold & flu tablets, but he didn't eat - he wasn't in the mood.

I went to the office and met with a buyer family. The Mr. had the flu. He was huffing and puffing from climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor (21 steps, but they're not steep). He was complaining - aching all over, so dizzy he could not hardly stay on his feet, sniffling and hacking. Said he came down with this last Sunday. I was speechless. And get this - before coming to my office, he & the Mrs. had gone out to eat fast food with their little granddaughter. :tape

Once they'd left, I headed to Dollar General and picked up a disinfectant spray & wipes. Back to our office, where I pretty thoroughly cleaned everything. It took a little time, but the whole place smelled citrus-y and sparkled some when I left. I certainly felt much better about it!

How much sense does anyone have to have to NOT go out and expose unknown numbers of people to this plague?!?

I came home & woke up Sweetie to see how he was feeling. He's got a bad cough, and he acts like he's stiff - but he said he's feeling a little better. I cooked "breakfast for dinner" and he's about to take the medicine I brought home from the health food store. I picked up an elderberry concoction and some oregano oil. Hopefully those will work - they're supposed to cure the flu.

Good idea to clean everything Barb and that nice clean citrus smell. I agree WHY do people feel the need to go out when they are so sick???? Terri says a lot of sick people have gone through her line this past week and some have even gone to work??? Where is the common sense to stay home when you are that sick??? Terri said one lady came to buy stuff for her daughter and family since they all had the flu. They expected her to come and take care of them. She said no way, smart lady. Her husband has heart problems.

:cheer Yeah go EAGLES!!!! :cheer

Have a nice night all.

Hello friends! I'm prepping for midterms next week. Two tests in anatomy and physiology, those are killing me, tons to memorize. One test in sociology, a paper to write, don't know the topic yet. It limits my free time for sure...

The thing is all of the TV stations are so 'RAH-RAH' over every little thing. You know, like Tom Brady was seen in the locker room clipping his toe nails. (I made that up but you get the idea.) Who cares!? Worse, they all act like the outcome is a foregone conclusion. Two things I've learned about sports. Never predict the outcome lest you end up looking foolish. Ricky Prohl in 2002, "Tonight the dynasty is born, baby." The dynasty was born but it was the Patriots not the Rams. Prohl again, "It ain't over until it's over" which was actually true in 2002 and other games. Patriots last couple of appearances sure looked all over for them late in the games. Ha! DS and I had already resigned ourselves to the impending losses then the world turned upside down for the other teams.
Now that the day has arrived we're starting to get into it. When we were grocery shopping I told Maria not to get any chips and dip because, "Your kid will just eat it all before Sunday." Instead, we got some nice Italian sausages and rolls. Sure enough DS protested, "No Chips! What are we going to nibble on during the game?" That's a point well taken. If we did sausages at the start of the game after 5-10 minutes they're gone and then what? So I told him that since he works at Target he could get some chips and dip on Sunday. More protests! Evidently there was a stampede on chips at Target on Saturday. They had to open extra checkout lines to handle the crowds and had to call the warehouse to restock! So here's what we're doing. Italian sausages and German potato salad for supper with chips and dips as desired during the game.

Good morning!

Well, I was sick by 11 o'clock last night. I coughed off and on all night ... Got up and took cold medicine. Sweetie coughed too but I don't think he took any more than he had before he went to bed. This morning, we each have a headache, but we don't think we have the flu - I'm wondering if it's bronchitis. Gonna see what minor care center is open and go to it shortly, I think.

Get there quickly. It's not the flu that hurts you but the pneumonia that usually follows, same as in 1918. Pneumonia is easily treatable caught early enough. :pray2
