:wave Good morning! High winds here today. We've already had 60 mph wind gusts; we're having steady gusts at 44 mph now too. There are some power outtages in town but not widespread. Hope y'all have a great day! Edited by barb43, January 11, 2018, 8:07 am.

Good morning all. :grouphug Poor Lady loosing her husband so quickly. Things can happen so quickly and just change everything. Will add her to our prayer list. Barb I think you should go and get that cute little puppy, after all it had a name. It is a balmy 48 right now, storm front coming through that will put us in the single digits. Rain, sleet, freezing rain and some snow. Roads will probably be slick. AOL discontinued the software I was using, and it has messed everything up. I could not log onto PF or RR. :madnod So emailing from work this morning. I may be :lurk lurking for a bit. Have a good day all. :grouphug2 |

Good morning, Carmen! Stay safe in that weather over the next few days! :freaked ... :hug The dogs are wild this morning, loving the wind. I went out back with them and let out in the front courtyard too. Some leaves have blown and they had to run their noses all through those to check them out. |

Thanks for your prayers for Loreta, Jeanette and Carmen. We're going to get back with her on Monday. One of Sweetie's investors from California is here for a couple of days. He seems to be a pretty good human being. He's wanting to buy several more houses over the coming 12-18 months, and we hope he does, of course. He's just gone off with our rental manager to look at houses he's already bought, but not yet seen, and to check out a couple more that he may want to buy soon. I'm hoping to go run several errands shortly so I can get in out of the wind for the rest of the day, lol. Too bad you can't hear it roaring through the computer screen. :D: Edited by barb43, January 11, 2018, 12:15 pm.

Our cat is either trying to kill me or himself. He camps out right at the top of the stairs. Today I was trying to pass around him when, swish goes the tail. Bad move! I managed to step on his tail 3 times while doing the don't step on the cat or fall down the stairs dance. For all of his efforts all he got a swift kick to the butt. Yeah! I did. I kicked the cat. I wish we had dogs. Yesterday morning Maria told me to be on the alert since she was expecting a delivery from FedEx. Okee-doke. I just happened to be in the living room when FedEx rolls up. I watched through the window as the driver frisbeed an envelope onto our wet front steps without even ringing the bell. "So what was in it?" I asked later. "A cashier's check for 12 thousand dollars." :freaked Even the post office does better than that. They usually stick small stuff like that between the doors and ring the bell. Well I was able to get on this time after trying how many times yesterday??? :May :caked Nice move for FedEx, it would have been nice if he would have rang the doorbell and stuck the envelope somewhere it would not get wet. Bet kitty will stay out of your way Scott or he should. When I got off work had fun scraping the ice off my car, but it came off easier than I thought it would. We had a big band of sleet move through. The roads were not too bad as long as they were treated and people were driving safe for the most part. It is so cold out though with that wind. :cold It has to be 30-35 mph. :grouphug |

Mm, I don't know, Scott - I'd bet that cat just loves you. Lousy service from the FEDEX guy. :ohno Glad you didn't have too much trouble with the weather, Carmen. Sweetie's client from Cali treated us to dinner this evening at our favorite bul-go-ki house. We ate and talked for almost 2 hours. Had a ball! The wind is still soooo bad! Feels like it's gonna rip the door right off the vehicle when you open it. It's supposed to calm down a little overnight, but it hasn't done it yet. Edited by barb43, January 11, 2018, 10:29 pm.

Took Dad out to the DMV this morning to get his new drivers license photo taken. Even early in the morning they had quite a line. |

When we got back from the DMV, Dad was petting May. When he stopped, she took hold of his finger in her mouth as if to say: "Wait, I'm not done yet". Posted Image Posted Image Images hosted on Flickr.com :May Edited by M. Hawbaker, January 12, 2018, 10:04 am.

May is such a sweetheart! :May Y'know, Mel, our DMV and tag office are both always full of people from early to late in the day. Makes me wonder how people get off work to go take care of business during odd hours. I used to have to work in drivers license renewals and oil changes on my lunch hours and weekends. Cold here today, but dry. My hair is standing on end, anything whips it up. :ohno ... :heh I'm not complaining, I can bundle up. :wink Been home watching a couple of webinars this morning. Boy, do I have a lot of studying to do to get up to speed on our new corporate high-tech improvements. :faint See y'all later - gotta get these errands ran so I can come back this afternoon & cook homemade potato soup (healthy, no tater tots in it and no canned cream soup :thumb ). I'll let you know how that works out. |
