Life is strange sometimes.

Yesterday morning on Facebook, some of my friends were talking about making peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches.

Later in the day I was flipping through channels on the TV and came across a show where the hosts were making peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

Then last evening I stopped at the grocery store and overheard someone talking about how their kids just loved peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

When did this become a thing?

Peanut butter and pickles is not a combination that I would have ever thought of in a million years, and now I have encountered it three times in one day.

The grocery store has their display of Easter candy out already. So I was able to get my first batch of Cadbury eggs of the year.

My curiosity got the better of me. I tried the peanut butter and pickle sandwich thing for brunch this morning.

It actually wasn't bad, but it is not something that I would want very often.

Poor May saw me with a sandwich and came running to beg for some. You should have seen the look of disgust on her face when I offered her a piece. And then she ran. :pound

Poor silly cat.

You think peanut butter and dill pickle is weird? Try cottage cheese with ranch dressing. Brain says yuk but tongue says yum. Speaking of cottage cheese, it goes real well with hard salami. Not on a sandwich but as a bite of each at the same time. When I was a kid I used to get ridiculed at school for putting potato chips on tuna sandwiches. Years later I mentioned that to a bunch of people all of whom were very enthusiastic about how good that is. I just might try the peanut butter and pickle!

I've had cottage cheese and ranch dressing served on a bed of greens before as a side dish.

I never tried chips on a tuna sandwich, but many places around here put them on subs.

I'm usually up to try just about any food combination at least once, though I've never been able to bring myself to try raw sushi.

I used to eat peanut butter sandwiches with bread & butter pickles on them. I'm not a big fan of dill pickles at all, so we didn't usually have those around the house (dad didn't like them either & mom couldn't have cared less). I really liked those sandwiches - not sure what the attraction was, guess it was the crunchiness of the pickle and the smoothness of the peanut butter. :shrug

Now you've got me thinking I want to try a PB&Pickle sandwich again, after all this time, lol. I'd have loved to have seen Miss May's face when you offered her a bite of that sandwich. :pound I'm sure the hounds would turn up their noses at the pickles, but they'd love the peanut butter.

Chips on a tuna salad sandwich would be good too. I've often had chips on the side with tuna salad, and used to make tuna casserole with chips on top.

Sweetie is a big fan of cottage cheese with sliced tomato to go with it. I'm not a cottage cheese fan, so no comments on that subject.

It's pushing 40 today. You would think it was mid-July by the way the news people are carrying on.

Hi, Carmen . . . We didn't go get the puppy. I'm sure our friend will find him a good home! :): I just can't have all the dogs I see that I'd love. :ohno

You made me think, Carmen, I've recently discovered I like chili garlic sauce and peanut butter on crackers or nacho chips.

Later: Okay, royal nuiscance - the dishwasher is not fully draining. :ohno ... :Hmm I have the guts basically taken apart. I needs a user manual so that's next thing I'm looking for online. :B:

No internet service at the office today, if your office is hooked into the company's service. So, I came home to send some emails. Can't lose half a day of work! :ohno

It's still chilly out, hard to believe it might reach 70 this afternoon. I was going to turn of the heat, but decided to wait until I leave again. The dogs probably don't mind one way or the other.

:wave Howdy, all!

We were cheated out of our 70-degree high temp weather this afternoon. :ohno It was chilly and windy all day. Supposed to be pretty cold again tomorrow, but I don't think snow is in the forecast.

I'm tired tonight. It was a strange day. Having to move around to do work; going to this 165 minute conference; not having lunch till almost 5 o'clock (so we skipped dinner). We had a customer's wife come by this afternoon and drop a bombshell on us. Her husband passed away unexpectedly from liver cancer on December 7th. He had no idea he had cancer till about a week before he died from it. The wife is more or less in shock, still. She came by because she's Filipina; speaks pretty good English but really doesn't have family here. She works but doesn't make enough money to really support herself. She didn't know who to turn to so decided she'd start with Edward. We heard her out and then came up with some suggestions. She had a friend with her, a woman I've somewhere and she knew she knew me but we couldn't figure it out. Fortunately the friend understood what we were suggesting so she's going to help out the wife. That poor woman - I feel so sorry for her. And I liked her husband - good, solid hard-working man who was a Christian. Sweetie & I are both a little :freaked this evening. Going to read a bit and go to bed early. :tsk
