Yes, that's him. Highest scoring US "Ace" of all time. Pulled from combat late in the war to keep him from harm he was ironically killed while acting as a test pilot, August 6, 1945. |

Yeh, I read about his death. That was sad! This lady is one of a kind. She comes from a very well-to-do, high level family in Great Britain. During WWII, she was a mechanic in one of the female auxiliary services of their military. Posted Image |

This man was a WWII Navy sailor who fought in the Normandy invasion. He was later assigned to the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. He wanted to play baseball, but was small in size, and young, so had a hard time convincing the base team manager to give him a try. He was so talented, he went on to have a professional career in the Major Leagues. Posted Image |
