Yes, that's him. Highest scoring US "Ace" of all time. Pulled from combat late in the war to keep him from harm he was ironically killed while acting as a test pilot, August 6, 1945.

Yeh, I read about his death. That was sad!

This lady is one of a kind. She comes from a very well-to-do, high level family in Great Britain. During WWII, she was a mechanic in one of the female auxiliary services of their military.

G.K. Chesterton?

Well, if it's not him, it sure looks a lot like him . . . I'll stick with G.K. Chesterton. :shrug

This man was a WWII Navy sailor who fought in the Normandy invasion.

He was later assigned to the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. He wanted to play baseball, but was small in size, and young, so had a hard time convincing the base team manager to give him a try.

He was so talented, he went on to have a professional career in the Major Leagues.

I know that nose anywhere. This is Yogi Berra.

Another baseball catcher. Mediocre compared to Berra. He had an extraordinary life off the field. Whoever figures it out be sure to read his wikipedia page. Remarkable!
