Yes! Caresse Crosby is the wild woman pictured here. And if you read her story on Wiki, it'll leave you shaking your head.

I'll check out your gal in a bit, Scott. :D:

I thought at first that he was Humphry Davy . . . but the photo doesn't quite match Humphry Davy's photos. So now, I'm going to say I think he's Charles Goodyear. Final answer (tho' I'm not sure the timing is right).

Okay, this next man invented something in the mid-1800s that we are all probably very thankful to have available for our use every day, so long as we are largely in a first world area. It's mundane & probably not much thought about until you run out of it, and then it's pretty important. :heh

Gayetty's medicated (drenched in aloe) toilet paper is another humorous story. He really did do a good thing, but it was ultimately deemed a failure. The Scott toilet paper that came along a little later was far more successful.

My education would be sooo lacking if not for y'all and this game! :thumb

Thought I'd try something a little different for a change of pace this time.

Can you identify what type of animal this native of the Southern Hemisphere is?

Not a cat. It is classified as a member of the Viverridae Family.

This lady was a slave, and later a cook in Chicago. In her spare time, she was an activist and very outspoken against poverty.

Nancy Green, AKA, Aunt Jemima. I read a lot about her a few years back. Fascinating person.
