So many hard ones lately. I might have done this gent before. There have been so many. Popular vaudevillian in the early 30s. He struck out on his own and lost popularity. His cohorts went on to be world famous in motion pictures.

I sort of remember this guy. He was a vaudevillian. Is this Ted Healy?

Yep. The act was Ted Healy and His Stooges, Moe, Larry and Shemp. Curly came on board later.

Yep, that's right! I forgot about the Stooges. Okay, soon as I get this pic loaded, I'll post the next one. :wink

Okay, here we go . . . staying in the distant past. :wink

These ladies were the first female comedy duo at the beginning of the sound era, according to at least one source.

Too easy! That's Thelma Todd (Hot Toddy) on the left and Zasu Pitts on the right. What an unlikely duo they were. Todd died very young of carbon monoxide poisoning. Some say it was murder but I don't think it was ever proven. Zasu Pitts started out as a serious actress but really blossomed in comedy. She starred in Erich Von Stroheim's masterpiece, "Greed" in 1924. It's well worth watching if you can find a copy. Von Stroheim, you may recall, played Max, Norma Desmond's butler, in Sunset Boulevard.

You are spot on, Scott! I'd love to see Greed, if I could find it. Von Stroheim was excellent in Sunset Boulevard, one of my favorite movies.

This guy contracted polio as a young child, took up swimming to strengthen his muscles, and went on to win Olympic gold in that sport in 1924. He was quite a swinger in the movies.

Well, we can eliminate Rin Tin Tin. He was a German Shepherd. This dog is not. Working on it.

I thought there was a dog in the cockpit on Sky King, but I'm not finding that, so guess not. :lol Gotta keep looking . . .

Sky King was a few decades later than the series of short films that our mystery canine appeared in.
