Since the previous thread was nearing 900 posts, I decided to start a new one.

You're right on Scott - That's John Morrison Birch. He was kind of an odd duck, but had a fascinating military career. http://warfarehistorynetwork.com/daily/wwii/for-god-and-country-the-story-of-john-birch/

As for the John Birch Society - they're kind of "out there' too. I do support their slogan, "Get the U.S. out of the U.N." :heh That's really catchy! And I'm an anti-UN person, so that fits. I've never read any of their books so can't comment there.

Let me hasten to add that I did not seek out the Birch Society books. About 35 years ago I was unemployed and staying at a friend's house. His father was a Bircher.

Bobby Orr! . . . I really don't know hockey, but when I googled your clue, I only had 3 real choices and as soon as I saw his name, I was pretty sure it would be him.

Right. There was a time when Bobby Orr owned not just Boston but all of new England. We gave it to him. Now people under the age of 50 have no memory of his greatness.

The man below is a controversial person; a writer/director for late night television. He is also a cartoonist and standup comedian. He has written several comics and at least one children's book.

Is this Daniel Kibblesmith? This one was kind of hard especially since I never heard of him.

Yes, it is. I am certainly no fan of his. I thought he might be a little tough, but since we'd just had the thread on the gay black santa with the white husband, I thought he'd be fresh enough in mind.

Now that's funny - how did you find a general officer without a name tag on his uniform?!? (Or did you blot it out?) :heh

Let me see if I can find him . . .
