Looks like Leon Trotsky. Is it?

You probably don't know this, but I studied Frido Kahlo's life & works in depth a few years back, along with Diego Rivera. Frida is mostly likely the one who actually killed Trostsky, while on a train going somewhere - can't recall the story, but it was a good one!

So from all that, even tho' a few years ago, I believe this is Trotsky.

I'll find somebody. I've got to stay off facebook - the socialists are annoying the fool out of me. So, I'll look for a gamepiece here. :wink

This man was a painter in the first half of the 20th century, embracing cubism early in his career and then post-impressionism. He enjoyed painting large works with bright colors, painting several frescoes around the world, for which he is probably best known.

Yes, it is. Did you know he was born & raised Jewish but forced to convert to Catholicism? He became an atheist. He is reputed to have acted as a cannibal, at some point. He & Frida and their friends were a very interesting bunch of bad actors! :heh

To be honest I never heard of him before you mentioned him above.

Before there was a New Age movement this woman was already there. Is it just me or does she just look evil?

She founded a sinister cult, a forerunner of the new age movement.

I thought at first that this was Alice Bailey, but it's actually Helena Blavatsky. Right?

The Theosophical Society ... which led away an good Christian man we knew out in the mountains. His wife, an artist and poet, got him "hooked" on the teachings and thoughts of Theosophy. He turned away from his Southern Baptist upbringing, and would sit in his living room speaking blasphemously of Jesus Christ, the Bible, Christian denominations, and would tell us right out how he didn't believe in heaven. We liked him, so long as he didn't try to start that sort of discussion. His wife was a delightful woman to talk to - had lived in artist colonies in cities and towns around the country and was a prolific painter. We have 3 or 4 of her works. Talking about God? She wouldn't even hear of it. They each passed on several years back and we were very sad when they did because we expect they had not changed at all, right to their last breaths.

Yes. Helen Blavatsky. My late father in law was a theosophist. Maria tells me that he turned to Christianity near the end of his life. Let's hope so.

The woman below was an American religious pioneer. Her story is an interesting one. At age 9, she was hit in the head when a classmate threw a rock at her. She suffered a loss of blood, and was later in a coma for 3 weeks and then had amnesia of the event. It's thought she may have developed a seizure disorder as a result of all that, but it's not definite. She did have visions from time-to-time through her adult years.

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is Ellen G. White.
