He had a replacement role in a popular TV western for awhile, but his character was not well accepted and the TV show was canceled.

Yes! And he was the narrator at the opening of Alias Smith & Jones. After Pete Duel's suicide, Roger Davis was substituted in as the replacement character. However, the fans didn't support that & that's what caused the low ratings that got Alias Smith & Jones canceled. I was a fan, I'll admit it. :blush

Roger Davis was also married to Jaclyn Smith, of Charlie's Angels fame, from 1968-1975.

In biker lore this woman's accomplishments are epic. Started riding at 19 in the 1930s. Rode cross country several times in the Jim Crow era.

This is Bessie "B.B." Stringfield. Her story is absolutely awesome.

Definitely worth the short read found here:

This man was a scientist. At the end of the Civil War, he and a partner opened a chemical plant along the east coast and refined the formula for an ingredient that bakers around the world still use today. It's what he is best known for.

He branded this item, which he packaged in a can, with the name of the chair position he held while teaching at Harvard (if that sentence makes sense).

I probably wouldn't have thought of him, if I hadn't just read your comments about Rumford baking soda over in the other thread.

I wondered if you or Scott would catch that. I had to laugh after I realized how much I'd given this away with my post in AG/ND.

This is The Donald, isn't it? Donald Trump.
