Since the previous thread was nearing 900 posts, I decided to start a new one.

Didn't think this was Pancho Villa, but I found the picture among a number of "historical Mexican military men" and it is labeled Pancho Villa. Is that right?

Yes, that's him. I tried to avoid the stereotype picture of the bandoliers and the sombrero.

That is an interesting photo of him. I'll post someone later today.

This man was a veterinarian whose "practical" re-development of an earlier patented invention led to modernized travel for the average person in the early 20th century

This is Lock Martin, who played the 8' tall robot named Gort in the 1951 version of The Day the Earth Stood Still.

I like the 1951 version, not the 2008 version.

Yes, that's him. I knew that was way too much clue but what else could I do when the likelihood of any one here having seen his face in other films is very small.

You're so right! The 1951 version was far superior. I didn't see the 2008 version until about a month ago. My reaction was "Why!"

You're right - I'd have never known his face. Poor guy, most of the roles he played were uncredited, and in at least one movie, his scenes were cut.

He was either 7'7" or 7'1", depending on who was accurate, but he wasn't strong so they had to rig up wires & pulleys or use dummies for him to lift in The Day the Earth Stood Still.

I'll find somebody to post later today . . . let me think about it awhile.

Ted Nugent was scheduled to play a venue but challenged this man to take his place. He played this triple neck Stratocaster with a pipe organ accompaniment. Who is he? Bonus points if you know where he was playing. :heh

The venue was a major political gathering - recently.

If I say much more, it'll be a total giveaway.

I brought my son in on this one since he (likes to think) knows all things guitar. All he could give me was, "some general." That was enough.

General James Mattis at the 2012 RNC.
