Wish Martha Stewart was My Sister!
This wasn't 'too' easy, but then I wondered if he might be one of the Our Gang/Little Rascals cast, so I googled them.

Is this Scotty Beckett?

Yes, that's him. The picture dates to the time "The Jolson Story" (great film, BTW, I saw it last month) was filmed in 1946.

This man was commissioned a 2nd LT in the USMC and served on Guadalcanal during WWII until he contracted malaria and received a medical discharge.

Back in the states, he became a motion picture film and television star.

Here he is portraying a character in a romantic drama movie, but he is better known for playing a US Marshall in a late-50s tv western.

You know who he looks like? Timothy Dalton. Not a guess as Dalton is way too young to fit the clues.

:lol He does kinda look like TD. In my opinion, he's much better looking. (that's the swooning female in me, you know :heh )

The movie above is from the late 1940s.

If you focus on his role as a tv marshall, you may have an easier time of finding him. Telling you more than this would be total giveaway.

No, older man than Sam.

I just checked to see the age difference. Our man was born in the early 1920's and served in WWII; he died in the early 1990's. Sam Elliott was born in 1944.

Here's a telling picture of our mystery man - from his late 1950s TV series.

Yes, John Russell. Was the 2nd photo too big of a giveaway?

Not too much. I still had to wade through sheriff, marshal, etc. It took awhile to find lawman.

Popular actor/comedian during the race picture days. Rumor has it that he was actually considered to be a replacement Stooge (either Curly or Shemp.)

He was all over the Harlem Renaissance articles, so pretty easy, tho' I didn't know who he was.

I'll post somebody this evening ... off to look at a house now.

This man was commissioned a 2nd Lt in the US Army and was seriously wounded while fighting in Italy during WWII. He survived and earned a law degree after the war. He is a well known politician, having served in both the House of Representatives and the US Senate.
